3x1 HDBaseT and HDMI Switcher, Mixer Amplifier, and USB Hub
The Atlona AT-OME-CS31-SA-HDBT is an Omega™ Series AV presentation and collaboration system featuring AV switching for local and remote sources, USB routing, audio mixing, amplification, and control making it ideal for modern classroom and meeting environments.
AV Switching
The OME-CS31-SA-HDBT includes 3×1 switching between one HDBaseT input, two HDMI inputs, and one HDMI output. The HDBaseT input supports extension of video up to 4K/60 4:2:0, plus embedded audio, control, Ethernet, and USB over distances up to 330 feet (100 meters). The HDMI inputs support 4K HDR and 4K/60 4:4:4. Extension is helpful in applications where a source is remotely located, such as at an instructor’s lectern in the room, or if the switcher is mounted by a projector.
USB Routing
The system features a four port USB hub for connecting cameras, speakerphones, interactive displays, and other devices as well the ability to switch them between remote and local host devices. Making OME-CS31-SA-HDBT ideal for use with popular video conferencing and UC (unified communications) platforms.
Audio Mixing and Amplification
The OME-CS31-SA-HDBT offers three line inputs for connecting a variety of audio devices. Its onboard mixer supports individual level adjustments of the line inputs, de-embedded HDMI audio, and USB audio. The integrated amplifier delivers either two channels of 25 watts or a single channel of 50 watts into 4 or 8 ohms.
Advanced Audio Features
The OME-CS31-SA-HDBT also includes audio integration capabilities for classroom environments that ensure lesson material and announcements are heard clearly including:
- Ducking – Lowers the level of program audio sources when signal, such as a teacher microphone, is present on the balanced line input.
- PA Mute – The audio output of the switcher can be muted when an announcement is detected on the school public address system or via contact closure from a third-party system.
- Line output – In addition to the amplifier, all switcher audio is also routed to the line output which can be connected to an assistive listening system
Automation and Control
The OME-CS31-SA-HDBT can provide control to a display through TCP/IP, RS-232, or CEC*, without the need for a separate control system. With automatic display control, the switcher can trigger a display to power on automatically whenever a laptop or other device is connected. At the end of the presentation, when the presenter disconnects, the OME-CS31-SA-HDBT forces the display to power off. Alternatively, the switcher can trigger based on occupancy with the Atlona AT-OCS-900N or another sensor connected to its digital I/O.
If a physical user interface is desired for system operation, the OME-CS31-SA-HDBT can be controlled by Atlona’s AT-VKP-8E keypad controller or a Velocity™ touch panel control system.
* Consumer Electronics Control (CEC): Atlona does not guarantee the function of CEC with all televisions. We can confirm proper operation with many current Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, and LG TVs. Many manufacturers do not support the CEC “off” command when sent from a source and older TVs use proprietary commands. Atlona only supports those TVs that follow CEC command structure from HDMI 1.2a and support the “off” command when issued by a source. We encourage any dealer to get evaluation product from Atlona prior to designing a system around this control technology or be prepared to use other methods to control their displays if Atlona CEC is not compatible with the installed displays.
Applications
- Classrooms – In addition to remote and local AV switching, audio amplification, USB routing, and control needed by modern classrooms, the OME-CS31-SA-HDBT provides additional features for education environments including ducking program audio for an instructor microphone and muting the system for public address messages.
- Conference rooms – The OME-CS31-SA-HDBT is an all-in-one solution for hybrid meeting spaces that need remote and local AV switching, audio amplification, USB routing, and display control.
