The AC-MX-44 is a 4x4 HDMI matrix switch that supports HDMI 2.0(a/b), HDCP 2.3, up to 4K video resolution, and up to 18 Gbps bandwidth. This switch allows any source (Blu-ray, UHD Blu-ray, satellite receiver, game consoles, PCs, etc ... ) to show on any connected displays. This matrix equalizes and amplifies the output to ensure the HDMI signal transmits through long HDMI cables without losing quality.
Audio Delay is “On-Board” so integrators can manage lip-sync issues before they become a problem. Video signal management is also possible with built-in scalers. So, if the installation has a couple of older displays, integrators don’t need to forfeit 4K signals to pass the signal to all of the displays. In addition to scalers, this matrix supports complete EDID management, allowing maximum flexibility with today’s broad mixture of sources and displays.
AVPro Edge User Interface
Managing HDMI signals can be challenging, from interoperability between sources and displays, changes in signal type coming from different types of content, to Hollywood protection with HDCP; each one of these things can cause havoc on the installation. With AVPro Edge's User Interface, we put the power back in the hands of the installers. Integrators can create their custom EDID strings to perfect the signal coming from the source or scale an image to work with a legacy display, all from an easily accessible and navigatable interface.
We developed the AEUI technology with our group of engineers. Installers can use our interface confidently, knowing that we are not simply attaching an already available technology. We built the AEUI from scratch for our integrators with the technology they requested.
Key Benefits
HDBaseT Compatibility Mode (HDBT-C)
- Convert high bandwidth signals between 9Gbps-18Gbps to be used with HDBaseT transmitters. The conversion uses a proprietary algorithm that impacts the original image a little as possible, so integrators can transmit HDR and high bandwidth signals over long-distance transmission devices like HDBaseT Extenders or for use on a display that does not support 18Gbps. Best of all, integrators manage this setting on a per output basis, so they have complete control over which individual runs are “down-clocked.”
4K Down Scaling
- This technology is managed on each output. Scaling will allow integrators to downscale 4K sources on outputs going to displays that may not support 4K. Additionally, this matrix switcher can scale chroma subsampling from 4:4:4 down to 4:2:0 ensuring compatibility with legacy devices. Other matrix switchers force a signal to work by “dumbing down” the entire system even if there is only one old 1080P display.
Extreme EDID Management
- With 29 onboard EDID’s, including HDR EDID’s, not getting a picture is simply a thing of the past. Integrators can manage the input side of the switch by selecting a preloaded EDID. We also can instantly read an EDID from any connected display and apply it to the desired input, all with the push of a button. Goodbye, EDID problems...
Dual Audio De-Embedding
- Our unique Audio De-Embedding allows:
- The user can extract 2 Channel PCM audio from each output. NOTE: the Analog Port only supports 2CH PCM - for down-mixing, check out AC-AVDM-AUHD or our AXION line of matrix.
- It features four digital optical Toslink outputs with support for 7CH LPCM, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital +, DTS, DTS Master Audio.
- Extracted audio routing options include
- Bind to output (extracted audio swaps with the video, this is the default mode)
- Bind to input (extracted audio is fixed to the corresponding input by the same number)
- Independent (extracted audio is routed however integrators like and there are commands to allow it to function as a separate matrix)
Audio Delay
- With the AC-MX-44, integrators can manage audio delay per output on the balanced or digital outputs. Delay audio up to 630ms, so lip-sync problems vanish. Audio delay can be controlled directly from the front panel for ease of use and a simple setup with the push of a button.
Built-In Test Pattern
- The unit features an internal test pattern generator that integrators can use to verify that the infrastructure after the matrix is intact. Displaying a test pattern on each output can save hours of painful troubleshooting and allow integrators to identify issues before becoming problems.
Easier Installation
- With the AVPro Edge User Interface, many easily accessible tools are available inside our web-based user interface. Installers of all experience levels can fully deploy large video distribution systems more effortlessly than ever before. Companies will do more jobs and increase profits by finishing installs quicker and saving experienced technicians time and energy to direct towards new installations.
Identify Issues Before Leaving the Job Site
- The AVPro Edge User Interface allows integrators to follow up and check each video signal's health. If there is an issue, integrators can use the HDMI and HDBaseT diagnosis tools to narrow down if there is an issue with the cabling, EDID, or resolutions. Integrators can leave a site confident that they won't have to be back while conveying an expert installation to their clients and earning more money. Ensure integrator technicians are working on new installs and not just fixing systems that should already be wrapped up.
Built-In Simple Video Switching Control
- With Admin control, integrators can set up a user with limited access to the User Interface. This feature is perfect for smaller bars and restaurants that need to have their staff control straightforward source switching without having access to the entire setup, diagnostics commands, or volume controls. In some instances, this can help integrators work around some clients budget restraints, gaining installations they might not have won without the flexibility AVPro Edge products provide.
Application
What is a matrix switcher?
- Definition - Matrix switchers provide the ability to route any input to any output or multiple outputs at any time. Depending on the model, a matrix switcher can route HD, UHD, or SUHD content in this manner. Additionally, since most venues have audio zones and video zones, breaking out or striping off the audio is often necessary. It has become almost a standard feature on matrix switches.
- Control – Matrix switchers are generally controlled via a 3rd party controller like Control 4, RTI, Crestron, and others. Many integrators want ready-made drivers for their control system to make programming and deployment easier.
- Who uses them? - At the heart of almost every custom install is a matrix switcher to ease routing and distribution of signals, including Audio, Video, and Control – so, you have a product that can compete on price, performance, compatibility, and control.
