Switched and Outlet-Metered PDU
The Expert Power Control 80x5-Series is a network-compatible power distribution unit with 4/8/12 power ports on the back. The connected loads can be switched on or off as required and the total power consumption per power port can be monitored, making the PDU a must-have in AV and IT installations, as well as small data centers.
The power ports of the Expert Power Control 80x5-Series can be switched separately via web interface, serial interface, SNMP or the button on the device. SNMPv3, SSL and IPv6 as well as Telnet, Radius and Modbus TCP are supported. The PDU has two integrated energy counters per power port, whereas one counter is resettable. The metering of a wide range of electrical variables enables the user to identify and exploit power-saving potential in the IT environment for every connected individual load. In addition, the user receives warning messages when fault currents occur (residual current measurement type A). This enables preventive maintenance measures to be taken even before downtimes occur.
Expert Power Control for more operational security and energy efficiency in 19-inch installations
- Demonstrably fewer and shorter outages of your critical IT and AV infrastructure
- Detect AV and IT problems at an early stage: Through proactive power monitoring per port and environment monitoring
- Measurably increased energy efficiency (Green IT and AV): Electricity cost and CO2 savings through controlled switching off of devices
- Integrate anywhere: Quickly and easily integrate anywhere with API interface: REST API, HTTPS, SNMP, Telnet and MQTT
- Fix AV and IT problems quickly and effectively: Remote reboot or with the self-healing function (automatic restart) thanks to integrated watchdogs
Switching Function
- Each power port can be switched via HTTP(S), SNMP, ModbusTCP or command line interface via Telnet, SSH, MQTT and serial interface
- Programmable on/off sequences for remote reboots (Remote Reboot)
- Power ports can be switched when preset sensor thresholds are exceeded
- Self-healing function thanks to 4/8/12-channel watchdog: Each power port can be assigned its own Watchdog (ICMP/TCP), which initiates an automatic restart if necessary
- Switching state and switch-on delay up to 9999 seconds (166 minutes) individually adjustable for each output port after power failure
- Current peaks due to increased inrush currents are automatically prevented by sequential switch-on with a latency of 1 second
Metering Function
- Power consumption metering (kwH) per power outlet with 2 energy counters: one counter counts consistently, the other counter is resettable
- Metering of current (A), voltage (V), phase angle, power factor, frequency (Hz), active power (W), apparent power (VA) and reactive power (VAr)
- Metering of differential current type A (mA)
- 2 connectors for combined plug-and-play sensors (temperature, humidity and air pressure) to prevent often occurring physical hazards like overheating and increased humidity or air pressure
Security
- Integrated type 3 overvoltage protection prevents damage to the device and connected loads
- Long-life High-Inrush Relays prevent welding of relay contacts during inrush current peaks
- Generation of status messages and alarms (e-mail, syslog, SNMP traps MQTT, SSH, Telnet)
- Encrypted e-mails (SSL, STARTTLS)
- Access protection by IP access control
- Encrypted communication through SSL (TLS 1.1, 1.2, 1.3) and SSH
- Password protected access
- Beeper for audible alarm when sensor limits are exceeded/deceeded
- IEC-Lock power ports prevent accidental unplugging of power cables (for EPC 8045-2)
Operation
- Easy-to-read LED display for displaying total current, IP address and sensor values
- Firmware update via Ethernet during operation (no restart required)
- Simple and flexible configuration via web browser, Windows or Linux program
- Dynamic assignment of an IP address via DHCP or manual assignment of static IP address
- Rapid commissioning thanks to free and reliable drivers from our technology partners
